El Chaltén is a town located in Los Glaciares National Park, in the Argentine province of Santa Cruz. It is an access road to the trails that surround the peaks of Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy to the northwest. Near Fitz Roy there is a path that leads to the Laguna de los Tres viewpoint. Just northwest of the village is the Capri lagoon overlooking the mountains. One of the main streets of the town is San Martín, lined with shops.
