At km 2400 of National Route 3, a peninsula eroded by the wind and the sea recalls the figure of a lying lion which, framed by the immensity of the steppe that meets the sea in steep cliffs, guards a great diversity of fauna: 134 species of birds, 28 mammals, 5 reptiles, 82, 40,000 pairs of Magellanic penguins and colonies of one-hair sea lions, rhea and kinds of fish and a large number of invertebrates.
The Pingüinera and the hull of the former ranch are not to be missed, which was an important cattle ranch in Patagonia in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries, today it works as the Park Visitor Center
