Cerro La Paleta del Pintor is located in the small town of Maimará, belonging to the department of Tilcara. It is located at 2.383 meters, in the center of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, in the Province of Jujuy.
Its geographical environment has as its main characteristic the polychromy of its hills. The Rio Grande runs a few meters from there.
